Before 2013 Gets Here: Task 1

At the beginning of December, I made up my mind to accomplish a few small/medium size tasks around the abode, before the start of the new year. And seeing how it is already the middle of the month with zero projects done...Well, we're off to a fantastic start.

Let's take a gander at this list:
1) Organize the chaotic entertainment wall
2) Get pictures/frames off of table surfaces to free up space
3) Tackle the dining area/office nook
4) Organize the laundering area
5)Organize our kitchen cabinets/get dry and boxed foods into clear containers
6) Label, label, and label some more

It is both a blessing and a curse living in a one bedroom apartment. It is a wonder to clean because you can literally reach every room if you stand in the center of it. Ok, just kidding, but you catch my drift. Down side you ask? Zippo room to store anything. And now, with our Little Miss, things are pretty cozy up in here. Our budget is also pretty non-existent, so I love trying to find what I already have around here that is multifunctional. That also leaves us with a bunch of mismatched pieces. But I kinda love that...what would your first home be without all that craziness?

Without further adieu, cleaning the chaos which we call our "entertainment area", has been cleaned and organized at least for the time being. You know updating and changing things around is a constant in this household. Our sub "to-do" list looks like this:
  • Mount bookcase to the wall for Little Miss' safety
  • Gather and organize loose cords behind and around TV
  • Sort through bookcase donating any unread books
  • Sort through storage boxes and getting rid of any unwanted items
  • Wrap and label storage bins
  • Find "L" brackets for DIY bookshelves
  • Repaint that boring clock
  • Hang picture shelf
  • Accessorize

From the start...
 Progress...

Living in an apartment unfortunately means that we can't paint, replace any fixtures or demo anything. Which I crave with the utmost desire to do. I will get my chance some day! Until then, may this little house blossom.
